Robin Bennett

Robin Bennett - Founder and Trustee Director

Robin founded The Aktuel Translation Group (incorporating PTI) in London in 1992, after graduating from London University (Royal Holloway) with a degree in Modern Languages.

Aktuel Translations has grown steadily since to be one of the most respected technical translation agencies in the world and was recognised by the Who’s Who of British Business as one of the fastest growing companies in the UK in 2003. Robin also writes books and lectures on Entrepreneurship.

Married with 3 children, he will play just about any sport (poorly) when time allows.

Charlie Homewood - Managing Director

Charlie finished his degree in French and German at the University of Durham in 2012.

He has been our Senior Project Director since August 2013, being primarily involved in an operational role: namely quoting, sourcing translators, quality control and business development.

Charlie’s interests include cricket, squash, acoustic guitar and irony.

Francesca Scaccabarozzi - Senior Project Manager and In-house Translator

Francesca is from Italy and graduated from the University of Bergamo in 2016 with a Master’s Degree in foreign languages and literatures (focusing on English, French).

After working in translation for a couple of years in Italy, she came to the UK in May 2018.

She enjoys reading, travelling and swimming.

Yoana Stoykova - Senior Project Manager and In-house Translator

Yoana is from Italy but has lived in the UK since 2015. She graduated from the University of East Anglia in Norwich having studied translation and interpreting, with a focus on French and Spanish.

While at university, she thoroughly enjoyed translating literary texts, in particular children’s books.

Her hobbies include photography, climbing, dancing and cooking.

Carys Robins - Project Manager and In-house Translator

Carys graduated from the University of Bath in 2020 having studied French and Italian.

She joined us in January 2021 for an internship and has since become a translator and project manager. She also manages our Twitter account.

When not in the office, Carys is usually doing something sporty.

Rosie Cooper - Project Manager and In-house Translator

Rosie graduated from the University of Durham in 2022, having studied German, French and Music on the Liberal Arts programme.

Within this she particularly enjoyed German language and culture, and interdisciplinary modules.

Outside work, she enjoys playing the clarinet and saxophone in wind bands, singing in a choir, reading, sewing and running.
